Foothills First Range In 2007, Foothills Resource Services acquired First Range Drilling to provide wireline coring services, shallow drilling for conventional coring services and surface casing pre-set services for drilling operations. Foothills First Range Drilling Rig #1 is an Ingersoll-Rand TH60 hydraulic top drive, on a carrier truck, capable of drilling up to 400m. The entire operation moves in three loads. The second load is a tractor trailer unit consisting of a mud tank, shaker and D300 pump with a bank of 671 Jimmys. The third load is a tractor trailer unit which carries the drillpipe, doghouse and light plant. The system is purposely kept lightweight and with a small number of loads to maximize the number of wells that can be pre-set and or drilled and cored. Foothills First Range operates with three experienced crews under a rig manager. The rig manager has over 10 years experience with such an operation. Crews work 12 hour shifts, two weeks on and one week off. Foothills maintains personnel policies to ensure that superior crews are employed and retained. Combined with Foothills' vast coring experience, Foothills First Range provides world class service in the surface casing pre-set, shallow drilling and coring service industry.
